A BIG PARQUET FACTORY IS BURNING IN OGULIN

A fire broke out at the plant of the Bjelin company in Ogulin this morning, the police confirmed for KAportal. Firefighters immediately went to the field and are currently working on extinguishing the fire. According to available information, the fire broke out in a new facility located in Oštarijski Island, within the Ogulina Entrepreneurial Zone.

An eyewitness told KAportal that the fire broke out during the night, and the fire was noticed when it flared up around six o’clock in the morning. According to unofficial data, the fire engulfed the storage area, and there is no information about the injured so far.

Bjelin is a renowned factory of parquet and wooden floors, part of the Swedish-Croatian group Pervanovo Invest AB, owned by entrepreneur and innovator Darko Pervan. Pervan is known for developing the revolutionary “click” system for connecting laminate and parquet, which is today the standard in the floor covering industry. The Bjelin company, based in Ogulin, has invested significantly in the expansion of production capacity and innovative technology in recent years, thus positioning itself as one of the leading manufacturers of wooden floors in Europe.

More information about the causes of the fire and possible material damage is expected after the completion of the investigation and official statements of the competent services.
